Pre-Healthcare Profession Students Checklist
Step 1: Sign Up for GW's Pre-health Email Groups

- GW Center for Career Services Health Professions Newsletter
Step 2: Register for Courses
Check the GW Health Professions Advising's primer on the required courses for your career(s) of interest.
Step 3: Attend Pre-Health Information Session
Attend a Pre-Health Info Session so that you are eligible to meet with a GW Pre-Health Academic Advisor.
Once completed, sign up for a one-on-one appointment with a Pre-Health Advisor. For first-year students, wait until your second semester to make an appointment. Remember, if you are going through the upcoming application cycle for medical or dental school, you must meet with your pre-health advisor at least once during the fall semester.
Step 4: Connect with GW Center for Career Services
Get connected with the GW Center for Career Services for Industry Career Coaching and attend one or more workshops at the GW Health Professions Workshop Series. Refine your resume and interview skills so that you can successfully navigate the job/internship landscape--which will help your graduate school applications.
Step 5: Get Involved with Pre-Health Groups
Get connected with at least one organization, program, or conference for mentoring, support, and community. Below are opportunities for pre-health students, particularly those who identify as URM.
GW Multicultural Association of Pre-Health Students (MAPS): join for events, study groups, mentoring, and shadowing opportunities. MAPS is the undergraduate chapter of the Student National Medical Association (SNMA)
